Sleeping Bear Dunes

I was so excited to get back to one of my absolute favorite locations, Michigan’s Sleeping Bear Dunes! There are so many photo opportunities and the options in this area are endless which provides some of the best landscape photography! Of all the places in Michigan, Sleeping Bear Dunes has to be at the top of my favorites list. There are so many opportunities for gorgeous pictures of Michigan from lighthouses to barns, beaches and all sorts of beautiful Michigan landscapes. I visited the area this year with my husband, Ben. He drove and I ran about the Michigan landscapes with my camera capturing all the gorgeous images that I possibly could. I had never taken the time to visit the historical barns in the area previously either, so this time around, I made sure that some of these were on our list. As a matter of fact, the second photo on this post of the barn was photographed from the top of a small hill. When I was done photographing the barn, I turned around to see the sweeping Michigan landscape. It was wide open with rolling hills, not a human or home in sight with a lovely backdrop of trees. I stood there in just took in the beauty of this creation, how did I get so lucky to be able to witness such gorgeous things? I didn’t take a single photo in that moment of solitude, I simply took it all in. It really is the best kind of therapy! For the full two days we were in the area, we made our way up and down M22 so many times during this trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes and put many miles on our tires. We woke up early for the gorgeous Michigan sunrise and stayed up until the last color of sunset. Sleeping Bear Dunes in Michigan never fails and this trip for these Michigan photos proved to be one of the best!
