Polar Express Train (Steam Engine 1225)

I was so excited to have the opportunity to photograph Steam Engine 1225 on its morning ride from Owosso, Michigan all the way to Ashley, Michigan. I woke up extra early in order to make it on time to Owosso, Michigan so I could follow the train the entire way and photograph it every chance I could at each intersection. Let me tell you, it was a chilly morning! There were many photographers along the way who had the same thought as I did and because of this there were guards at each intersection ensuring that people did not get too close to the train tracks as it passed by. I didn’t mind this safety precaution and appreciated the efforts of those working so hard to ensure that people were able to continue to photograph this gorgeous train all while remaining safe. Even so, chasing this train throughout Michigan is not something that I will forget soon and I am so excited to finally mark these photographs off my “Michigan photo bucket list”

A special note is that this train was used as the inspiration of the train in the official Polar Express movie and I can see why, it is absolutely stunning! It is definitely a must see. If you know someone who loves trains, be sure to share these images with them, I am certain they will love seeing them! And if you are looking for the perfect gift, these train photos might just be the perfect fit! Visit my store here.
