Detroit, Michigan Congregational Church

While on a trip to Detroit, Michigan I was able to tour the Congregational Church. Churches have the best architecture and I could spend hours just photographing all of it. This church was no different, the architectural photos will tell that story though! This Detroit, Michigan church has a rich history as well. They offer tours of the space below the church which was used to hide refugees en route to boats at the foot of Wayne Street (now Washington Boulevard), smuggling them across to Windsor. The full story of this can be found here. While I did not go on this tour, I spent my time instead photographing this gorgeous historical church. If you ever get a chance to see it in person, I highly recommend, the folks at the church are accommodating and are happy to share their space. To learn more about how to contact them, click here.
